Nothing has been said about carrying GTA Online progress over

There has been no statement about transferring GTA Online characters, money, vehicles or properties into whatever multiplayer Grand Theft Auto VI has.

The precedent cuts both ways. Progress transferred between console generations within GTA Online, but that was the same game on new hardware — not a different game.
