When does it come out?

19 November 2026.

That is Rockstar’s third date. The first trailer said 2025; in May 2025 the game moved to 26 May 2026; in November 2025 it moved to 19 November 2026.

Both delays were announced by Rockstar itself rather than leaking first. Whether a third happens is not knowable — but the base rate for this game is now two delays in two years, and anyone telling you the date is safe is guessing.

What can I play it on?

PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.

The previous console generation is not included. That is a break from GTA V, which launched on the hardware it was built for and was then rebuilt twice.

There is no announced PC version — not a date, not a window, not a confirmation. It is the single most-asked question about this game and Rockstar has not answered it.

Where is it set?

The state of Leonida, whose largest city is Vice City.

Leonida is new to the series. Vice City is not. Almost everything written about “the Vice City map” is really about Leonida, of which Vice City is one part.

Six regions have been named. Six named regions is not the same as six regions: Rockstar has not said the list is complete.

Who do I play as?

Two characters — Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

Rockstar has framed them as a couple whose story runs on the two of them against everyone else. The Bonnie and Clyde comparison is the studio’s own framing, not a fan reading.

Lucia is the first playable woman in a mainline Grand Theft Auto. Earlier spin-offs and multiplayer modes let players be women; what is new is a numbered entry built around one as a story protagonist.

How much has actually been shown?

Two trailers, a set of screenshots, and eight character portraits.

Trailer 1 arrived on 4 December 2023, a day early, after it leaked. Trailer 2 followed on 6 May 2025.

That is the entire visual corpus. It is a small body of material for a game this size, and it is why so much writing about GTA VI is padding around the same handful of frames.

And what is not known

This is the half of the picture that gets filled with speculation everywhere else. It is more useful empty and honest.

A PC release: Not announced. History says roughly a year after console, and history is not a source.
Anything about multiplayer: Rockstar has not described an online mode — what it is, when it opens, or how it relates to GTA Online.
Whether GTA Online progress carries over: Nothing has been said, in either direction.
The size of the map: No official figure has ever been given, for this game or any previous one.
A single-player expansion: Not announced. GTA V never got one; GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption did.
